Despite the vast quantity of information that a search engine can retrieve, there are even greater quantities of information that can't be found through a search engine.
The library provides access to a wide array of online catalogs, web-based databases, and print and online indexes. These search tools provide access to information found in scholarly journal articles, books, country and industry reports, news backfiles, and much more.
Many databases, like EbscoHost's Academic Search Premier, Lexis/Nexis Academic, and ProQuest's New York Times Historical provide the full text of journal and newspaper articles.
Indexes like Ebsco's PsycInfo and MLA International Bibliography give you citations and abstracts to journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, and more. We'll cover how to read a citation and find the full text when it's not online in the section on Finding Articles.
