President's Message
Welcome to another exciting year for the Librarian's Association at UNC-Chapel Hill! LAUNC-CH was chartered on December 6, 1972 as a unique professional association dedicated to the promotion of the following areas:
- To provide for the professional growth and development of its members.
- To promote effective library service within the academic community.
- To foster a spirit of cooperation among members of the library profession.
Academic libraries are changing at a rapid pace and LAUNC-CH can play an important role in helping us cope with emerging challenges. We have a tradition of providing excellent programming throughout the year, including the annual conference and the research forum. Once again our conference will take place in March. Keep an eye on the website for more information on the date and theme!
Our goals for this year are to encourage new professionals to become more involved with LAUNC-CH, encourage long-term staff to reconnect with LAUNC-CH, and offer new programming and training opportunities. Be a part of the Carolina tradition and make LAUNC-CH an integral part of your future by joining or renewing today!
