[Source Description: 10 August 1837. William McPheeters to Marcellus McPheeters. University of North Carolina Papers (#40005), University Archives, Wilson Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.] Raleigh August 10th 1837 My Marcellus, I have been detained at home longer than I expected. I do not now calculate on visiting you at the Hill before Monday next in the Stage. Could you by some means give information to the following persons that I shall want to see them on Monday evening or on Tuesday morning, touching their accounts against the Trustees of the University. I wish Mr. Waitt to know the time of my coming up. But you need not inform him that I wish to see the under-named persons individually, viz.
Don't give yourself much trouble about this matter. But enquire, and see those who may fall in your way. The family are all well. And are remembering you kindly. Adieu for the present. We are pleased to learn from your letter to James that you are boarding with Professor Mitchell. Wm. McPheeters
