The collection contains a daybook of a general merchant, presumably J. A. Baldwin, in Covington, Richmond County, N.C., 1855-1856 and 1864, and two students' notebooks, perhaps from Richmond County, one a mathematics and navigation exercise book of Alfred Baldwin, 1811, and one a writing and arithmetic exercise book of William Baldwin, 1820.
