Miscellaneous items, 1940-1948, including a letter from Mrs. Hal Worth, North Carolina Society of County Historians, describing a trip into Randolph County, N.C., and enclosing a photograph of the tombstones of Andrew Balfour (died 1782), Elizabeth Balfour (died 1818), and their son; a newspaper clipping about Andrew Balfour's death; and a biographical sketch of Elizabeth Balfour from The State, 17 February 1940, who was appointed postmistress at Salisbury, N.C., in 1796.
