| Abstract | Howard Browning was a resident of Littleton, N C., and owned a general merchandise and cotton merchant business. He was the executor for the will of S. L. Barrell and, subsequently, the guardian of J. M. Barrell. Financial and legal papers of Howard Browning. Many of the papers are from his business, B. R. Browning and Son. They include receipts, a fire insurance policy, requests for records from customers, inventories, and account records. There are also many papers concerning the estate of S. L. Barrell, for which Browning was executor, and the subsequent guardianship of Browning over Barrell's son, J. M. Barrell. There is also a photograph of a man, woman, and child taken in Ocean View, Va., on 28 August 1901. |
