Bush & Lobdell of Wilmington, Del., was a firm that supplied heavy machinery, parts, and tools for gins, textile works, railroads, and agriculture. Principals in the firm were Charles Bush and George G. Lobdell.

The collection includes letters to the firm of Bush & Lobdell written by agents in Mobile, Ala., New Orleans, La., and Macon and Savannah, Ga., concerning orders, finance, and politics; and by southern railroad companies requesting wheels and axles.
