Biographical NoteThomas J. Carey of New Branford, Conn., served as a private with Company E of the 15th Connecticut Infantry Regiment, March-September 1865. During this time, his unit was posted to Lenoir and Craven counties in eastern North Carolina, and he participated in the Battle of Wise Forks and the military occupation of Kinston, N.C. Company E was mustered out on 27 June 1865 and returned home to New Haven, Conn., to be discharged on 12 July 1865. Back to TopCollection OverviewThe collection contains the diary kept by Thomas J.
