Scope and Content
The collection includes the correspondence of Harry Woodburn Chase relating to his becoming chancellor at New York University, 1933, and his retirement, 1950-1951. There are also letters of condolence addressed to his wife upon his death, 1955. In addition there are scattered letters from Henry Smith Pritchett, Edmund E. Day, Elihu Root, Harold O. Voorhis, and Thomas John Watson, and two addresses by Herman Harrell Horne introducing Chase. Also included are carbon copies of papers, articles, and addresses, 1911-1956, by and about Chase, compiled by Louis R. Wilson, 1959.
