Abstract James Clark (1779-1839) was a circuit judge, state legislator, United States representative, and governor of Kentucky. The collection includes a letter from Clark, while a United States representative from Kentucky in Washington, D.C., to Colonel Leslie Combs, Lexington, Ky., commenting on proposed changes in the judiciary system, Creek Indian lands in Georgia, and confidential sessions on nominations for the United States representative to the Panama Congress to be held later that year.
