The collection includes a diary, 1854-1892, of Cottrell in Eufaula, Enon, and Union Springs, Ala.; Greenville, S.C.; Russellville and Owensboro, Ky.; and Pensacola, Fla. Entries, which are largely accounts of family life, pastoral activities, and personal meditations, are irregular and not in order. Also included are clippings of articles by Cottrell on church news, political questions, inspirational topics, and life in Alabama and Florida in the 1880s. |
