Abstract:      Correspondence of Daisy Gertrude Dame, sister of
           Olive Dame Campbell.  Dame served as a kindergarten
           teacher at Oneida Baptist Institute, Oneida, Kentucky,
           July 1909-April 1910.  The letters provide an
           excellent account of life in the rural hill country of
           Kentucky in the early 20th century.  The letters were
           written by Dame to family members in West Medford,
           Mass.

                           DESCRIPTION

   Dame's letters to her family recounting her experiences as a
kindergarten teacher in the hill country of Kentucky, 1909-1910. 
Dame describes not only the mission school at Oneida but also
other nearby areas into which she travelled within the state.
