Theodore Fulton Davidson (born 1845) was a lawyer and Democratic party leader of Asheville, N.C. and attorney general of North Carolina, 1885-1893. He was also a member of the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives. Davidson was married first to Sallie Kate Alexander, who died July 1887, and later married Sarah Lindsay (Sallie) Carter.

The collection includes chiefly letters from Theodore F. Davidson to his wife, Sarah Lindsay Carter Davidson, and letters to her from friends and members of the Carter family. Several letters to the Davidsons, 1921-1923, are from associates in Dresden, Germany, and discuss post-World War I social, political, and economic conditions in Germany, including the perceived influence of Jewish people. Also included are scattered letters about legal business and Democratic Party affairs received by Theodore Davidson; a scrapbook of his career; notes on cases tried in Cherokee County, N.C., in 1870; and a Buncombe County, N.C., merchant's account book.
