| Abstract | Alice Denham (1933- ), author, adjunct professor of English at the City University of New York, and model, born in Jacksonville, Fla., and graduate of the University of North Carolina (B.A., 1949) and the University of Rochester (M.A., 1950). Denham has published numerous novels, articles, television and movie adaptations, and short stories, among them "The Deal," which was filmed in 1988. The collection includes correspondence, biographical materials, writings, and pictures of Denham. Included are copies of her novels, among them Amo (1974); Adios, Sabata (1971), a novelization based on a Western movie; The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1968), based on a popular television series; and My Darling from the Lions (1968). Also included are manuscripts of three books by Denham, Shabby Genteel: A Southern Girlhood ; Terminatrix, or Equal Opportunity Mayhem; and Sleeping with the Bad Boys. Also included are articles and published and unpublished photographs of Denham, including a Playboy centerfold. |
