Nancy Witcher Langhorne Astor (1879-1964), a native of Virginia, became Viscountess through her marriage to Waldorf Astor (1879-1952), 2nd Viscount Astor.
John Stuart Dudley (1893-1966), author of "Nancy Astor in Virginia and England" was born in Florida, raised in South Carolina, and educated at the University of South Carolina and Harvard Law School. He practiced law in New York, N.Y., beginning in 1920.
