Dupre, Laurent Dupre's father, a Louisiana legislator, who wrote to Jefferson Davis suggesting that the depleted Louisiana regiments be sent home from Virginia to defend their native state and from Jefferson Davis to Lucius J. Dupre about why his suggestion could not be followed.
