Information
Julia Goode Eagan (1888-1963) of Salisbury, N.C., was a writer and editor. Eagan was born in Atlanta, Ga., and married Henry E. Eagan of Salisbury in 1912. She studied at Columbia University, was social editor of the Salisbury Post, 1915-1920; wrote feature articles for the Charlotte Observer and Atlanta Journal; worked for many years as a civil servant; and was the joint author of The Prophet of Zion-Parnassus with James F. Hurly.

Scope and Content
The collection includes letters to Julia Goode Eagan from University of North Carolina professor Archibald Henderson (1877-1963) of Chapel Hill, N.C., about an article, "Archibald Henderson, World-Famous Carolinian" written by Eagan and published in the Charlotte Observer in 1932. Henderson comments on university politics and his contributions to literature and theater. There is also a typescript, 1932, of the article with hand written addenda and corrections by Henderson; and slight, scattered personal correspondence between Eagan and Henderson thereafter about shared interests.
