Abstract The collection includes miscellaneous papers, chiefly bills, receipts, deeds, court proceedings, wills, estate settlements (including the division of slaves), and other legal and business papers of Edenton and Chowan County, N.C., citizens, mainly before 1820. There are few letters. Several items concern the awarding of prizes by the Admiralty Court during the Revolution.
