Abstract: Letters to Susan Fisher of Augusta, Me., from her
sisters, Mrs. R. Ingraham and Mrs. Mary Leonard, who
had gone to Augusta, Ga., to establish a dry goods and
ladies' clothing store. Letters describe the sisters'
lives in the South, with frequent comparison to Maine,
concentrating on social activities and business
conditions. Also included are several letters, 1840-
1841, from a nephew, Gustavus Ingraham, who was
working in a law office in Augusta, Ga., commenting on
           politics and local activities.
