Papers of Forney, Confederate brigadier general from Alabama, including a letter to his wife from near Petersburg, Va., 9 February 1865, describing fighting at Hatcher's Run on 6 and 7 February; clippings of tribute to Forney after his death; and an undated speech honoring Confederate soldiers from Alabama delivered in Calhoun County, Ala.
