GOLD HILL MINING COMPANY RECORDS
Abstract: Records of Rowan County, N.C., mining
firms, including the Gold Hill Mining Company, the Gold
Hill consolidated Company, A. H. Almy and Company, and
the Rowan Mining Corporation. The relationships among
these firms is unknown. Records consist of 25 volumes
documenting the activities of these companies, including
records of laborers' time, payroll accounts, company
store accounts, lists of expenses and dividends paid, and
records of purchases of goods and services.

contains a few accounts relating to construction

Company book, containing cash accounts and a few accounts

Folder 15 Volume 15: August 1873-1874. Records of
accounts with individuals and other companies, owner
unidentified (formerly volume 14).
Folder 16 Volume 16: 1873-1888. Accounts with
individuals for goods and services and a few construction
and maintenance accounts; there is also a record of some
mining operations, owner unidentified (formerly volume
15).
Folder 17 Volume 17: September 1883-1884. Journal
with daily entries recording work performed and a record
of mining expenses, owner unidentified (formerly volume
16).
Folder 18 Volume 18: 1906-1908. Day book of
supplies bought and sold and of wages for labor, owner
unidentified (formerly volume 17).
Folder 19 Volume 19: 1907. Cord wood accounts,
records of transactions with the Gold Hill Copper
Company, the Southern Mining Company, the Southern
Railway Company, Union Mines, and various individuals,
owner unidentified (formerly volume 18).
Folder 20 Volume 20: January-May 1915. Bi-monthly
Gold Hill Consolidated Company payroll sheets (formerly
volume 19).
