Daniel R. Goodloe was an abolitionist, journalist, and Republican politician from North Carolina. The collection includes Goodloe's autobiography, a description (1892) of political events and leading members of Congress in Washington, D.C., from 1839 to 1860, articles and part of a manuscript history of Reconstruction, and an essay on the Mecklenburg (N.C.) Declaration of Independence.
