The collection contains family papers, 1827-1913, genealogical notes, clippings, and pamphlets accumulated by Rebecca Hill of Hillsborough. Included are letters between family members concerning personal news, Hill family history, and family deaths, including two letters, 1827, about family matters from George Evans Spruill, Scotland Neck, N.C., and family letters, 1866-1902, to Hill from relatives in the Norfleet, Graham, and other families. Some correspondents include N. S. Bryan, E. W. Pugh, Thomas B. Hill, and F. H. Busbee.
