expand/collapse Expand/collapse Historical Information

When the Historical Society of North Carolina was formed in 1945, it was said to be a "reorganization" based on earlier societies. It was, however, different in membership, purpose, and type of activities from any such organization that had existed in the state. For details, see clipping files in the North Carolina Collection and For History's Sake by H. G. Jones.
