Jenkins of Siler City, N.C., was a teacher, banker, sheriff, and treasurer of Chatham County,
N.C.

A jail book recording names of prisoners kept in the Chatham County jail and other information,
and a volume recording licenses issued in the county for liquor, livery stables, peddlers,
physicians, lawyers, merry-go-rounds, and other purposes.
