Abstract	Hamilton Chamberlain Jones (1884-1957) was a lawyer from Charlotte, N.C., who represented North Carolina's Tenth Congressional District (Mitchell, Avery, Burke, Catawba, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg counties) in the United States House of Representatives, 1947-1953. The collection includes Congressional files, 1947-1952, and campaign papers, 1943-1945, of Jones. In addition to materials relating to Jones's successful and unsuccessful Congressional campaigns, the papers include correspondence with constituents about national and local matters, political correspondence, and routine Congressional materials.

Hamilton Chamberlain Jones (1884-1957) was a lawyer from Charlotte, N.C., who represented North Carolina's Tenth Congressional District (Mitchell, Avery, Burke, Catawba, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg counties) in the United States House of Representatives, 1947-1953. Jones was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, class of 1906, and served as first assistant United States District Attorney, 1919-1921; state senator, 1925-1927; and trustee of the University of North Carolina.

The collection includes Congressional files, 1947-1952, and campaign papers, 1943-1945, of Hamilton C. Jones. In addition to materials relating to Jones's successful and unsuccessful Congressional campaigns, the papers include correspondence with constituents about national and local matters, political correspondence, and routine Congressional materials.
