Abstract Papers relating to the organization, administration, and financing of the Kate Baldwin Free Kindergarten in Savannah, Ga.
The project, started in 1899 by George Johnson Baldwin (1856-1927) and his sisters as a memorial to their mother, was continued
by his children and grew into a city-wide system of kindergartens. Papers include minutes of the Kate Baldwin Free Kindergarten
Association and correspondence of George Hull Baldwin and other members of the Baldwin family with Hortense M. Orcutt (died
1936) and other officials of the association and supervisors of the kindergarten.
