Abstract Roger King attended the University of North Carolina from 1940 to 1943. The collection contains three films documenting life at the University of North Carolina, 1940-1943. The films are 8mm, black-and-white or color, with no sound and ranging from 10 to 15 minutes in length. They were shot in and around Chapel Hill, N.C., and on the campus of the University of North Carolina. They document University of North Carolina fraternity life, including Chi Phi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Delta Theta, pledges, rushing, and hell-week; University of North Carolina student life, including parties, banquets, dances, and the bar scene; University of North Carolina sports, such as football, baseball, track, tennis, and lacrosse; University of North Carolina holidays such as Student-Faculty Day and May Day; and the Old Well.

The Roger King Films collection contains three films documenting University of North Carolina life from 1940 to 1943. The three films are 8mm, black-and-white or color films, with no sound. The films F-5390/1-2 are black-and-white and color film spliced together. The films range from 10 to 15 minutes in length. Film titles and descriptions have been transcribed directly from the containers. These films were shot in and around Chapel Hill, N.C., and on the campus of the University of North Carolina. Footage documents University of North Carolina fraternity life, including Chi Phi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Delta Theta, pledges, rushing, and hell-week; University of North Carolina student life, including parties, banquets, dances, and the bar scene; University of North Carolina sports, such as football, baseball, track, tennis, and lacrosse; University of North Carolina holidays such as Student-Faculty Day and May Day; and the Old Well. The football teams featured are the University of North Carolina, Duke University, Wake Forest University, Fordham University, and the University of South Carolina.
