| Abstract | Roger N. Kirkman, active alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1975, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies Foundation; he served as president of the Foundation 1976-1978. Correspondence, 1967-1986, received by Roger N. Kirkman from family members and friends. The majority of the letters are dated after Kirkman's 1973 graduation from UNC-CH and relate to personal matters. Of special note, however, is correspondence, 1975-1977 concerning the work of the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies Foundation, Inc., which was formed in July 1974 to raise funds for the preservation of the societies artistic and historical properties. Also included are Kirkman's pocket appointment books, 1974-1983, and his diaries, 1975-1984. |
