ROGER N. KIRKMAN PAPERS
Inventory

Abstract: Roger N. Kirkman, active alumnus of the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1975, he was
elected to the Board of Directors of the Dialectic
and Philanthropic Societies Foundation; he served as
           president of the Foundation 1976-1978.
               Correspondence, 1967-1986, received by
Roger N. Kirkman from family members and friends. The
majority of the letters are dated after Kirkman’s 1973
graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill and relate to personal matters.
Of special note, however, is correspondence, 1975-1977
concerning the work of the Dialectic and Philanthropic
Societies Foundation, Inc., which was formed in July
1974 to raise funds for the preservation of the
societies’ artistic and historical properties. Also
included are Kirkman’s pocket appointment books, 1974-
           1983, and his diaries, 1975-1984.
