Howard Robinson Kornegay was a United States representative from the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 90th Congresses (January 1961-January 1969) and lawyer of Greensboro, N.C.

Collection Overview

The collection includes legislative, personal, committee, and general files of Congressman  Howard Robinson Kornegay of Greensboro, N.C., as Democratic United States representative of the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 89th Congress (January 1961-January 1967). Committee files include those Kornegay kept when he was a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee and the Interstate and Foreign Commerce Committee. Because the 6th District included Guilford County, N.C., and Alamance County, N.C., throughout Kornegay's tenure, much correspondence deals with local affairs and personal concerns from those counties.

Note that materials are loosely arranged by Congress, but that many materials overlap.
