Abstract:      Corrspondence, chiefly 1815-1869, among an
           extended but closely knit family, primarily the three
           sons of a French immigrant.  Included are Francis John
           Le Vert, merchant of Huntsville Ala.; Eugene V. Le
           Vert (d. 1875), Methodist minister of Millwood, Ala.;
           and Henry Strachey Le Vert (d. 1859), physician and
           scientist of Mobile, Ala.; and their wives and members
           of the related Walton, Withers, and Clay families. 
           Topics discussed in letters include merchantile and
           property transactions, general social and economic
           conditions, and personal news.
