Abstract Government permits, business letters, accounts, bills of lading, and other papers of Alfred H. Martine, Beaufort, N.C., relating
to his work as agent for Martine and Emerson, a firm of Massachusetts merchants who traded with the United States military
at New Bern and in other federally occupied areas of North Carolina. The firm was run by Martine's brother, Charles F. Martine,
