F. Brock was a Justice of the Peace in Monongalia County, W. Va.

The collection includes three account books, apparently from the same general store in Blacksville, Monongalia County, W. Va. (Va. until 1863), which include assorted non-financial records. One volume contains accounts, 1831-1832; a record of court cases, 1838, kept by Justice of the Peace F. Brock; and a list of marriages performed, 1841, by Brock. The second, marked "F. Brock's Book #2," is a daily account, 1856-1857, of transactions at the store. The third is an irregular daily record of merchandise with notes, 1870-1875, of crops made and shipped.
