Lucinda Sugg Moore (fl. 1927) was the daughter of Josiah P. Sugg and Margaret M. Sugg.

The collection includes five Civil War letters, 1861, 1862, and 1864, four of them addressed to "Emma" at Wilson, N.C., from North Carolina soldiers, R. J. Stallings and James P. Cross, serving with Confederate troops in southeastern Virginia. The remaining Civil War letter is from an unidentified grandson to his grandfather. Some topics include want of action, rumors, the campsite at Bens Church, and daily diet with requests and gratitude for food from home. There are also a few items, 1864-1867, relating to William W. Edwards of North Carolina, including tax notices and a receipt; and a letter, 1927, to Lucinda Sugg Moore containing recollections of the events of 1860-1861 in Franklin County, N.C., from Joseph John Allen of Louisburg, N.C.
