Abstract:      Miscellaneous papers related to the Union
           occupation of New Bern, N.C., during the Civil War,
           including the muster roll of Co. B., 1st North
           Carolina Infantry (Colored), U.S.A.; scattered letters
           from Union soldiers at Camp Stevenson describing in
           detail camp life and accommodations; and a plan of the
           town of New Bern showing the location of Burnside's
           headquarters.

               New York, N.Y., in February 1971 and July 1974.
