Abstract John Owen was the governor of North Carolina, 1828-1830. The collection consists chiefly of legal papers and letters dealing with lands in Bladen County, N.C., 1814-1828. Included are indentures, land plats, land grants, records of land sales and slave sales, deeds, wills, bills, receipts, and a tax list for the Confederate states, 1861.
