Daily entries record visits from her fiance, friends, and relatives, activities at the Presbyterian and Moravian churches, meetings of the Relief Society, and news of Confederate soldiers, as well as her wedding preparations. Both her fiance and her father, Francis Fries, were manufacturers. Entries in the later volume, covering July-December 1911, deal with daily activities, travels, and visits.
