| Abstract | Mary Unity Pendleton was born in Louisa County, Va., in 1858. She did not marry. Pendleton died in 1944. The collection is Pendleton's scrapbook containing materials dated 1883-1924. Included are clippings of inspirational articles, poems, and other writings; several dozen photographs of Pendletons and other family members; news clippings chiefly related to the Confederacy, soldiers, and the Civil War; a small piece of grey cloth labeled "Confederate Grey Piece of pall from Gen. Early's coffin"; and postcards related to Richmond, Va., Robert E. Lee, Woodrow Wilson, and World War I. |
