Series 1. Materials Related to the Intendencia of Cuba
The intendencia (administrative unit created by the Spanish empire to manage royal finances) of the colony of Cuba was established in 1764 as a result of the Seven Years' War. The materials in this series are photoprints and typed transcriptions of original documents held by the Spanish Archives in Seville and Simancas related to the origins and early development of the intendencia in colonial Cuba, 1764-1825.
