The collection is chiefly letters from Mary Bayley Pratt to members of her family and a few related family items. The letters are to Pratt's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bayley of Springfield, Ohio, and to her brothers and their wives, Lee and Beatrice Barton Bayley and William D. and Louise Pratt Bayley. Most were written in Chapel Hill, N.C., where Pratt lived with her husband, Joseph Hyde Pratt. The letters give personal, family, and community news.
