Edmund Richardson (1817-1886) was born in Caswell County, N.C. He later became a cotton planter and merchant of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and served as commissioner of the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition in New Orleans, 1884.

The collection is a copy of a short biographical sketch of Colonel Edmund Richardson.
