Ferdinand William Risque of Lynchburg, Va., attended the University of North Carolina in the 1820s.

The collection is a report, 11 June 1824, from the University of North Carolina concerning student Ferdinand William Risque, addressed to his father, James Beverly Risque in Lynchburg, Va.; a photocopy of a broadside, April 1882, concerning the death of John Pickrell Risque in an Indian massacre; and one typed page of data, 1965, concerning the Risque family in Washington, D.C., and St. Louis, Mo.
