Scope and Content
The Southern Folklife Transcription Discs consist of commercially recorded transcription discs documenting a wide array of radio programs and individual performers from the early 1940s through the late 1960s. A large part of the collection consists of both Sesac and Standard transcriptions, with the remaining discs including the Bob Wills Tiffany Transcriptions; the Old Fashioned Revival Hour transcriptions; and many government sponsored radio show transcriptions, such as the Armed Forces Radio Service, the Treasury Department U.S. Savings Bonds Division, and the Veterans Administration.
