Historical NoteThe Southern Newspaper Publishers Association (SNPA), was founded in 1903 with the purpose of "advancing the welfare" of member newspapers. SNPA serves its more than 400 members in 14 states by acting as a clearinghouse for information relevant to Southern newspapers, sponsoring annual and special topic meetings, and publishing various newsletters. Also included are SNPA history materials that include file copies of documents important in the development of the organization over the years. Among these items are several panoramic photographs taken at early SNPA meetings. Also included are file copies, some bound, of most SNPA publications.
