Dora Barbour Stevenson was a school teacher who lived in and around Zebulon, Raleigh, and Smithfield, N.C., between the 1910s and the 1970s. She was married to J.E. Stevenson.

The collection contains correspondence and business and financial documents of Dora Barbour Stevenson. Correspondence includes letters, postcards, telegrams, wedding and graduation invitations, thank-you notes, and holiday cards from Stevenson's relatives and friends and a few love-letters from suitors. Topics include family matters and college life. Business and financial documents include bank statements, land deeds, a teaching certificate, a will, letters from insurance companies, and product advertisements and solicitations. Some of these materials are related to members of the Wallace family or to Stevenson's husband.
