Scope and Content
The collection includes legal proceedings and correspondence in the case of North Carolina versus Swepson and Littlefield, a Reconstruction railroad fraud in which George William Swepson was involved with General Milton Smith Littlefield (1830-1899). Items include certified copies of briefs, order of certiorari, the opinion of Judge W. B. Radman, a list of state's witnesses, and letters about the case.
