Scope and Content
The collection includes official Confederate quartermaster records kept chiefly by George Sidney Thompson for the 28th North Carolina Regiment, 1861-1864, and including requisitions for supplies, muster rolls, pay records, vouchers, receipts, and military orders; a few records of the 33rd and 7th North Carolina regiments; and Thompson's papers as quartermaster in the Military District of Florida, November 1864-February 1865. There are also a few postwar papers, 1866-1877, of W. E. Thompson and H. C. Thompson of Orange County, who were employees of the United States Internal Revenue Department in North Carolina.
