One volume contains accounts, 1832-1834, of Charles Anthony Van Vleck (fl. 1811-1845), later Moravian minister in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, kept when he taught French, painting, and music in Newport, R.I., and other memoranda. The other volumes contain German script memoirs, unattributed, of Van Vleck, Kramsch, and Langgaard ancestors in Germany and colonial America, written circa 1845-1850. |
