Abstract: F. W. Walter, owner of the Corning Rail Road, and
his wife Mary lived in Corning, Mo., with their children
          Len, Alice, and Andrew.
Letters, 1882-1883, of F. W. and Mary Walter and
their son Len of Corning, Mo. The letters are primarily
between Len and his parents and siblings when he was at
Bellevue Hospital in New York City for an operation on his
leg in November 1882. These letters concern Len’s health,
family affairs, and expenses. There is also a bill of
service for dry goods for F. W. Walter and a letter from
Len to his parents in November 1883 recounting his life at
Bryants Business College in St. Joseph, Mo.
