The collection includes letters, 12 May-6 June 1862, from Warfield to members of his family who lived in Alexandria, Va., written while he was serving with the 17th Virginia Regiment, Confederate States of America, containing family news and details of fighting and other military activities at Williamsburg, Va., and around Richmond, Va.
